Update Log
A public log of new pages, new tools and material updates to existing content. We date-stamp every guide and surface the bigger changes here.
We publish a change here whenever we ship a new guide, a new tool, or a material update to a published page (e.g. a tax rate change, a fee correction, or a fresh editor review). Typo fixes are not logged.

New direct-download records cover CIS, dividend paperwork, mileage, hiring costs and account switching.
- Commercial decision journeys: Added transparent Tide and Capital on Tap fit guides with verified-source dates, poor-fit guidance, adjacent disclosure and consent-safe non-personal offer interaction events. The site now documents a measurement specification and an original research framework before any unsupported benchmark or conversion claim is published.

- Tide FSCS consistency: Updated Tide review and free business accounts comparison to correctly distinguish ClearBank-powered Tide accounts (FSCS protected up to £120,000) from e-money safeguarding arrangements.
- 2026/27 financial data: Corrected dividend rates, NI thresholds, Section 455 rate, Companies House fees, and Class 4 NI rates across all guides and calculators.
- Class 4 NI and Class 2 corrections: Updated side-hustle guide from 8% to the current 6%/2% Class 4 structure; corrected Class 2 wording in the sole trader vs limited company guide to reflect that mandatory Class 2 was removed from April 2024.

- New planning tools: Added the Company Profit & Extraction Modeller, MTD Deadline Planner, and IR35 Working Practices Checklist. The VAT registration tool now calculates from 12 editable monthly turnover figures.
- Discoverability, accessibility and delivery: Refreshed
llms.txt, expanded the human and XML sitemaps, added intent-based internal preloading, configured edge caching for public HTML on deployment, improved link and status contrast, and added an accessible email-address label. Final checks covered all sitemap URLs and mobile through desktop viewports. - Tool calculation review: Independently rechecked the Company Profit & Extraction Modeller and MTD Deadline Planneragainst current HMRC guidance. The extraction model now applies a valid unused Employment Allowance before estimating Corporation Tax, and the MTD planner now tests the three exact Self Assessment return years HMRC uses for the 2026–2028 cohorts.

How we date pages
Every article carries a "Last updated" date at the top. We re-review every guide at least every six months and after any material rule change. If we make a substantive update (not a typo), we log it here as well.
