Short answer

Capital on Tap awards points for eligible spend. Each point has a cash redemption value of 1p, or it can be converted to Avios at the selected plan’s rate. These are alternative redemptions of the same points: do not add the cash and Avios figures together. The model excludes introductory offers, interest, non-eligible transactions and any changes made by the provider after the checked date.

Annual eligible spend
£60,000
Reward points earned
60,000
Cash redemption if all points used for cash
£600
Potential Avios if all points converted
48,000

Cash redemption or Avios conversion?

A cash redemption has a clear 1p-per-point value. Avios conversion can be useful for a business that would otherwise buy eligible travel, but its value varies with route, cabin, timing, availability and the taxes or fees payable. Treat the displayed Avios figure as a point total, not a cash-equivalent value. You choose how to redeem the points rather than earning the displayed cash and Avios alternatives together.

Rewards should never justify borrowing

Interest and fees can easily outweigh rewards if a balance is carried. Treat rewards as a benefit on planned eligible business spending that can be repaid in full, not as a reason to spend more or borrow for longer. Check the current provider terms before applying or redeeming points.
