Tide Referral Code REFER200: How the Up to £200 Offer Works
A detailed guide to the current Tide referral code, including where to enter it, the sign-up route, qualifying actions, likely timing, offer validation and the reasons an account may not suit your business.
Current Tide referral code: REFER200
The Tide referral code currently associated with Business Finance Toolkit’s verified partner path is REFER200. The provider-linked referral path currently describes an up to £200 reward, made up of a £75 current-account element and a £125 savings element where the relevant qualifying conditions are met. It is available only to eligible new customers and is not a guaranteed payment simply for opening an account.

What “validated Tide referral code” means
A referral offer is only useful when the code, application path and promotional wording can be checked against a current provider-linked source. On 11 August 2026, we checked the referral path used on this page, the associated code REFER200, Tide’s current business-account information and current pricing information. The page therefore labels the code and offer as validated as of that date. It does not mean Tide has pre-approved you, guaranteed payment, confirmed that every applicant will see the same screen, or promised that the offer will remain unchanged.
There are several separate things to verify with a promotion. First, that the referral link opens a Tide application journey associated with the code. Second, that your own application is eligible under the provider’s current rules. Third, that the current/relevant account and savings conditions are completed within the stated time limits. Finally, that Tide confirms the reward under its own terms. We publish the check date because rewards, expiry dates, required spend, deposit/savings conditions and payout timing can change without a historical article automatically changing with them.
The partner link is normally safer than relying on a copied code alone because it carries the referral parameters into the application journey. If Tide’s sign-up screens show a code field, check that the displayed referral code is REFER200 before you submit. If a field is not shown, do not assume that manually pasting a code after the account is opened will retrospectively add it. Take a screenshot or note the application date and the offer wording you saw, then use Tide’s support channels if the referral is not reflected as expected.
How to use the Tide referral code when signing up
The exact screen order can change, but the operational sequence below is designed to minimise missed referral tracking. It is not a workaround for provider rules: it simply helps you make sure the information you intend to use is present before submitting an application.
- Decide whether Tide is suitable first. Review fees, cash handling, digital workflow and account-protection arrangement. A reward is not a reason to open an account you would not otherwise use.
- Start from the verified partner path. Use the application link on this page rather than beginning from an unrelated search result or app-store page. The link is associated with REFER200.
- Prepare your application details. Tide’s public account information says applicants need to be over 18, have a UK-based business, provide valid photo ID and upload a selfie photo. Company/director or sole-trader information may also be required.
- Check the referral indication before submitting. If the application shows a promotion or code field, make sure it matches REFER200. Do not enter a random code from an unverified site or attempt to combine multiple referrals.
- Complete the application honestly. Tide decides whether to open an account and may perform additional checks. A referral code cannot override identity, eligibility or compliance checks.
- Read the live qualifying steps after approval. The offer requires actions after account opening. Check the current in-app/email/provider terms rather than relying solely on a summary article.
- Keep a simple record. Save the application date, referral code, qualifying spend/deposit dates and any provider confirmation. This makes it easier to ask Tide a factual question if the reward does not appear.
You should never send an application screenshot, ID document, bank details or personal data to Business Finance Toolkit in order to use a code. The application belongs in Tide’s official journey. Our role is to explain the public offer and help readers assess account fit; Tide controls application, onboarding, rewards and any support outcome.
How the current Tide referral offer works
| Offer component | Current public summary checked 11 August 2026 | What to do before relying on it |
|---|---|---|
| Referral code | REFER200 | Use the provider-linked path; if a referral field is displayed, verify the code before submitting. |
| Headline reward | Up to £200 (£75 current account + £125 savings) | Treat ‘up to’ as conditional; read the separate current-account and savings terms. |
| Current-account action | Spend £100 on a Tide card | Confirm eligible spend, card activation, excluded transactions and the time limit in live terms. |
| Stated timeframe | Within 30 days of opening | Use the date on your approved account/offer terms if it differs from a general summary. |
| Typical reward timing | Typically 6–8 weeks | This is not a payment guarantee; keep evidence and contact Tide if the provider’s stated timing has passed. |
The key phrase is “up to”. The code is not a cash voucher. The current referral information represented in the verified partner path describes a current-account reward and a savings reward with different conditions. The current-account element is linked to using the Tide card for the required spend. The savings element needs its own careful reading because the relevant savings product, qualifying deposit/balance, holding period, eligibility and payout process can be different from the card-spend step. If the provider terms are unclear, contact Tide before moving money simply to chase a promotional outcome.
Complete only ordinary, genuine business activity. Do not manufacture transactions, make a purchase you would otherwise not make, move money between accounts without understanding the savings condition, or assume refunds/cancellations will count as qualifying activity. A reward that requires £100 of genuine card spending does not make £100 of unnecessary spending sensible. If the business does not normally use a debit card or would need to change its cash-flow routine just to satisfy a promotion, the account or offer may not be a good fit.
Who may be eligible for a Tide referral code offer?
Tide’s current account page presents the account to UK sole traders and limited companies, subject to its onboarding checks. It says the applicant must be over 18, have a UK-based business, show valid photo ID and provide a selfie photo. Tide also states that applicants outside the UK may apply in some circumstances where they have a UK residential address and phone number and are directors of a UK Companies House company, though additional checks may apply. These are product-application criteria, not an exhaustive list of referral-offer exclusions.
For the referral, the most important public qualification is that the person is a new Tide applicant/customer and follows the provider’s current offer terms. Existing members, previously opened accounts, duplicate applications, unsupported business types, failed verification, incompatible account arrangements or missed qualifying steps can all affect eligibility. Only Tide can make the final determination. If you are unsure whether a prior relationship with Tide counts, ask Tide before opening another application rather than assuming a code will override the restriction.
Account eligibility is also different from suitability. A cash-heavy business might be allowed to open an account but find Post Office/PayPoint deposit fees and processes uneconomic. A business with large reserve balances needs to understand the underlying-provider arrangement. Tide says Business Current Accounts powered by ClearBank have eligible deposits protected up to £120,000 in aggregate at ClearBank, while some Tide arrangements use e-money safeguarding. Verify the account you are offered before holding meaningful cash.
Timing, reward checks and what to do after applying
A sensible timeline begins on the day Tide accepts the application or opens the account, but the provider’s own wording is controlling. Record the date your account becomes active, the date you receive/activate the card where relevant, the date of the qualifying card transaction and any date tied to the savings element. The current summary refers to 30 days from opening for card spend and describes a typical 6–8 week reward period. Read the actual email, in-app screen or terms attached to your account because provider language can change and a particular promotion may use a different reference point.
After qualifying activity, do not keep repeating transactions in the belief that more will unlock a larger reward unless Tide explicitly says so. Check the promotion status in your account and retain clear payment evidence. If a reasonable provider-stated period has passed, prepare a concise support request: account opening date, referral code, qualifying transaction date/amount, savings step if relevant and the current offer wording. Do not share sensitive documents in public social-media comments. Tide’s support team, not a referrer, is responsible for resolving provider-side reward questions.
Choose Tide on the account’s merits, not just the referral code
Tide’s Free plan is published at £0/month, but its plan table shows a finite transfer allowance and usage-based costs. The current account page describes features such as invoicing, payment links, receipt categorisation, accounting integrations, cash-deposit options, team access and a linked saver. Tide’s paid plans add different transfer allowances, extra accounts, team-card capacity and admin functionality. The correct comparison starts with your business: how many transfers do you make, do you take cash, do you pay abroad, do you need extra cards, and will your accountant use the integration?
A simple service business that receives bank transfers, sends a moderate number of payments and values mobile-first invoicing may find Tide practical. A shop or trade that deposits cash frequently should price each deposit path. A company requiring branch help, complex lending or a conventional relationship manager may prefer another bank or a two-account approach. Use our detailed Tide review and Tide fit checklist before making the product decision.
Promotional conditions can change and may not suit your normal business workflow. Check Tide’s live terms, choose an account based on day-to-day fit, and only complete qualifying activity that you would otherwise undertake legitimately.
Common Tide referral code and reward problems
| Issue | Practical first check | What not to assume |
|---|---|---|
| I cannot see a code field | Confirm you began from the verified partner link and that the application journey has not changed. | Do not assume a code can be added after the account is opened. |
| The code is not displayed | Check the application screen, link parameters and any Tide confirmation carefully. | Do not enter an unrelated online code or create duplicate applications. |
| My reward is not visible yet | Check qualifying dates, card spend status, savings conditions and the provider’s stated payout timing. | A completed application alone does not create an automatic payout. |
| I made a payment and refunded it | Read the live terms or ask Tide whether reversals/excluded transactions qualify. | Do not assume any card transaction counts. |
| I had Tide before | Ask Tide whether you are treated as a new eligible customer for this offer. | Do not assume a new email address makes a previous customer new. |
